Sean MacCumhaillsGOLF CLASSIC.

The Annual Sean Mac Cumhaills Golf Classic takes place this Friday in the Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf club. Teams are €80. Loads of prizes. Please contact any committee member for info.

SENIOR FOOTBALL

Sean Mac Cumhaills made the journey to the Banks to take on Naomh Muire. Naomh Muire elected to play with the strong breeze in the first half and this paid dividends almost immediately.

They raced into 0-07 to 0-01 lead, the point for Mac Cumhaills coming from corner back Packie Gallen. It took a while for Mac Cumhaills to settle into the game and it took a well worked Gerard Grindle goal and two frees from Stephen Mulligan to bring them back to within two points.

Ht Naomh Muire 0-08 Mac Cumhaills 1-03.

The loss of tailismatic center back Gary Dunnion, replaced at ht due to injury, seemed to galvanise Mac Cumhaills. Playing with the strong wind, Mac Cumhaills played a long ball into Darren O Leary who laid the ball of to Marty O Reilly, who clinically tucked the ball away. Further points from Stephen Mulligan and a well deserved goal for Darren O Leary saw Mac Cumhaills take charge of the game. Two final points from Steven O Reilly gave no chance of a comeback for Naomh Muire. This was a good strong performance from Mac Cumhaills. They battled for every ball and the management used the bench well. They gave game time to some of the younger players, Conor Griffin, Michael Duignam and Chris Mc Caffery, who all showed well.

UNDER 12 GIRLS FOOTBALL.

The girls played in the all county blitz on Saturday morning in Colaiste Ailigh in Letterkenny. They beat Buncrana in their first match and played against Killybegs in their second. This proved to be a very tough match with Killybegs getting the better of the girls. Moville didnt field so our girls were through to the final, against Killybegs. The girls knew it was going to be a battle, and battle they did. They fought hard for every ball, and from keeper to full forward they performed brilliantly. The final score was Mac Cumhaills 4-01 Killybegs 2-02. Well done girls.
