The escort is placed on top of the Dry Arch service station today.

It brought the Donegal team luck in 2012 when we last won the All-Ireland.

And now the MK2 Escort has been put back on the roof of the Dry Arch Filling Station in Letterkenny.

Up, up, up and away!

Up, up, up and away!

A huge crane was put in place this morning to lift the car onto the roof of the service station.

The car, which has even undergone a fresh coat of paint in the Donegal colours, caught the eye of motorists as the operation got underway.

Owner of the Dry Arch Service Station, Ciaran Brogan, said he was hoping the MK2 would rekindle some of the memories which brought Sam home in 2012.

“It was last up in 2012 and we all know what happened that year.

“We’re just hoping the same thing might happen again this year.

“We’ve had a great reaction to it going up and it’s a real talking point.

“I think it’s so important for everyone to get behind Jim and the boys this week as we head to Croke Park,” he said.

Many thanks to Joe Langan for the great pictures.

Touchdown! The Donegal team escort makes its mark!
