GOLF NEWS: PATRICK MCCLAFFERTY WINS AT ROSAPENNA

On Sunday the 19th the club competition was played over the Old Tom Morris Links and was kindly sponsored by SouthWest technical Services, Paul Fogarty.

The winner was Patrick McClafferty (10) with 35pts.

The runner up was Denis Boyce (14) with 34pts.

Two’s – Seimi McBride 22 euro.

The annual Gents Seiko competition (G.o.Y event) will take place this coming Saturday the 25th over the Old Tom Morris Links.

There will be a club competition on Sunday the 26th.

On Sunday the 26th there will be a club presentation of all outstanding prizes in the Golf Pavilion at 5.30pm sharp and all recent prize winners are encouraged to attend.

The remaining golfer of the year events will take place on Sunday the 9th & 23rd of November (Christmas Hamper).

The 2014/15 Mulroy Links continued last Saturday at Rosapenna over the Sandy Hills Links.

The results were as follows –

Nett Section

1st Kevin McGonagle (5) 37pts

2nd Denis McBride (8) 34pts

3rd Denis Boyce (14) 33pts bot

4th Seamus Herraghty (11) 33pts

Gross Section

1st Noel Callan (0) 31 g pts

2nd Seamus Connor (4) 29 g pts bot

3rd Seamus Clinton (0) 29 g pts

4th Enda Kennedy (+1) 27 g pts bot

Twos – Seamus Connor, Denis Boyce, Ryan McGettigan, Pete Gallagher & Hugh McGinley – one sleeve of Titleist Pro V1’s each.

The next outing will take place at Portsalon Golf Links on Saturday the 8th of November.

With over 110 members of the links it is important spaces are only booked by competitors who will be able to compete on the day, please cancel any times well in advance when possible.

Tee times for Saturday the 8th are available via the Golf Shop at Portsalon on 074-915-9459.

On Saturday November 1st there will be a golf classic held over the Old Tom Morris Links in aid of the Mevagh Fire Service building fund.

It will be a shotgun start at 10.00am with registration in the Golf Pavilion from 9.00am.

A meal will be served for all competitors at 3.00pm which is included in the entry fee of €200 per team.

Tees & greens are also available to sponsor at a rate of €50 each.

Team entries/sponsorship to The Pavilion Golf Shop on 074-915-5000.

Tickets are now on sale in the Pavilion Golf Shop for the annual Rosapenna Dinner Dance which will take place on Saturday the 1st of November in the Rosapenna Hotel.

The tickets are priced at 35e each. Both the 2014 Singles & Doubles matchplay prizes will be presented on the night as well as the Ladies & Gents Seiko watches sponsored by Keith Wall of Timeline Ireland.

On Saturday the 15th of November there will be an open four ball scramble over the Sandy Hills

Links sponsored by The Pavilion Golf Shop.

A shotgun start will take place at 11.00am and the entry fee will include refreshments after the round followed by the presentation of prizes.

Entry fee – Visitor €25, Member €15.

All entries to the golf shop on 074-915-5000.

The Rosapenna G.C Gents AGM will take place on Friday the 12th of December.

Any uncollected prizes from the recent presentation
 are available for collection from the Pavilion Golf Shop and should be collected as soon as possible.
