A young Donegal girl is doing her bit to raise funds for charity after she watched a TV programme highlighting the plight of kids with cancer.

Áine O’Leary aged 10 from St Johnston is a 5th class student from St Baithin’s NS.

Áine decided to make these ribbons from loom bands after she watched “Stand Up To Cancer” programme on television last week.

She was touched by the stories she saw especially from the young people who are battling cancer.

Her parents Seamus and Julie O’Leary supported her in her decision and are extremely proud of her.

To date Áine has made and sold over 20 in her local village to date and she has received a few donations also. She is donating all money raised to the Donegal Hospice.

The ribbons are €2 each. She has raised over €100 so far. She is making pink and yellow ribbons for this worthy cause.

Aine’s story appears on the Donegal Hospice Facebook page where there is also a donate button.
