GAA NEWS: RED HUGHS SECURE DIVISION THREE STATUS WITH CRUCIAL WIN OVER NAOMH ULTAN

Senior Men

The men had an impressive victory over Naomh Ultan in the Replay of the relegation/promotion battle on Saturday in Mc Cumhaill Park. It was a huge Victory for the lads as defeat was an unthinkable outcome.

It was a great display of character and determination from each and everyone on the day. The lads can now look forward to next year in division 3 and hopefully push on and battle at the other end of the table next year. Well done to the lads and Manager Stephen Friel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Underage Presentations

 

 

 

 

​The underage presentations took place on Sunday in the clubhouse. All the usual awards were given out and presented by Stephen Mc Menamin Donegal minor team member. Award winners on the day were Under 13 Girls player of the year was Aimee Callaghan under 13 Most improved girls player of the year was Maddison White. Under 14 girls player of the year was Nicola Callaghan Most improved under 14 player of the year Saoirse Campbell, Under 16 Girls player of the year was Eimear Gallagher Under 16 girls most improved player of the year was Leona Mc Glinchey. Aimee Callaghan, Nicola Callaghan, Zara Gibson, Maddison White & Caitlin Geary also got merit awards for representing the club in the county development squad blitzes Sponsored by coaches Sabrina White & Maura Mc Crudden.

 

 

The boys awards winners were Under 13 boys player of the year Kieran Neeson Most dedicated player of the year Cian Gallagher. Under 14 manager PJ Gallagher could not pick a player of the year out of a very competitive squad and he very kindly sponsored a pair of gloves for all the young lads in the team. Under 16 player of the year went to Cormac Mc Menamin and most dedicated player of the year went to James Callaghan. A merit award was also presented to Dylan Lafferty for representing the club in the under 15 county development squad.

 

Minor chairman Stephen Gallagher also presented StephenMc Menamin with a small token of appreciation for taking time out to present medals and other appearances throughout the year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scór Na Nóg

 

 

 

 

Well done to Evan Carron Kee who represented the club in the County Final of Scór na Nóg. Although Evan didn’t make it through to the Ulster semi final, he put in an excellent performance receiving an extremely high score and very positive feedback from the judges, Over 19 clubs took part in this year’s scor and over 200 participants, this was reflected in the high standard of competition. Thank you also to those who travelled to support Evan. The club will be looking for talented young people to take part in Scor next year so anyone interested contact Gleanoir 0861506720.

This years dinner dance will take place on Saturday the 6th of December in The Villa Rose. Music by the popular new band Overtime. Tickets are priced at €25 and will are available in Bradley’s shop this week. It’s always a fantastic night so get your tickets early.

 

 

 

 

Minor Board A.G.M.

 

 

 

 

 

This years minor board A.G.M. will take place this Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Clubhouse. Everyone that can help out in any way or that is willing to manage a team for 2015 please attend.

Ceili dancing continues in the clubhouse on Tuesday evening from 8-10pm beginners always welcome. Great excercise and fun for all ages.

The annual Bazaar takes place on Sunday the 14th of December at 4.30pm in The Parochial Hall. The usual fantastic prizes will be up for grabs Tv’s, Tablets, Toys, Bikes, Household Electrical’s etc. Don’t miss your chance to be a winner on time for Christmas
