GAA NEWS: FOUR MASTERS U21’S DEFEAT IN COUNTY SEMI-FINAL BY EXCELLENT KILCAR SIDE

Lotto: There was no jackpot winner in the lotto this week. The lucky dip winners are Mary Harley (c/o the Post Office), Tommy Brennan (Revlin), Martin Kenny (Doonan), and Pat Brogan (Ballydevitt) All will receive €25 prize.

The numbers drawn were 12, 17, 18, 19. The next draw is on 22.12.14. The jackpot now stands at €4800. The lotto can be played online at www.fourmastersgaa.com or contact Paul Timoney on 0872791305 if interested in signing up for the lotto weekly. It costs €100 to sign up for the year, with all money going towards the upkeep of the club.

Donegal GAA Convention: Congratulations to Sean Dunnion on his reelection as County Chairman on Sunday in the Abbey Hotel. A motion from club children’s officer Seamus McInaw regarding criteria for umpires at game was passed by the convention. Thanks goes to Gerry Molloy and Lee Jordan for doing mike duty on the day, and to Eamon Gorrell, Deborah Dunnion, Paul Timoney, and Paddy Muldoon for representing the club on the day. The officers elected are as follows; Chairperson : Sean Dunnion, Assistant Chairperson : Dennis Ellis, Secretary Aideen Gillen, Assitant Secretary : Declan Martin, Treasurer: Cieran Kelly, Assitant Treasurer: Frankie Doherty, Coaching Officer: Anthony Harkin, Central Council: Niall Erskine, PRO : Ed Byrne, Development Officer : Terence McShea, Irish Officer : Con O Donnell, Childrens Officer : Mick McGrath, Ulster Delegates : Aodh Mairtin O Fearraigh and Pat Conaghan.

U21′s: Hard luck to the U21 men’s football squad who lost out 2-04 to 4-16 to an excellent Kilcar team in the county semi final on Saturday. Thanks goes to the players and management for their commitment and effort over the last few months. Best of luck to Kilcar in the final.

Minor Ladies: Best of luck to the Minors who play St Eunans in the Minor B County Final tomorrow night (Wednesday 17th) in St Mary’s club pitch in Convoy at 7:30pm. All support welcome for the ladies in what should be a good game of football.

Minor Boys: Best of luck to the Minor boys football team who play Buncrana in the county semi final this Saturday at 1pm in the Donegal GAA centre of excellence in Convoy.

There will be extra time played on the day if required.

All support welcome on the day for a team that started training back in January.

Indoor Football Training: U4 and U5 boys football training finished up on Tuesday night for Christmas.

Big thanks goes to Luke Keaney and Karl Lacey for coming along on the night to give out Christmas treats.

Each player received a number of treats including a football, skills sheet, and a selection box.

Thanks goes to all parents and coaches who helped out each week.

Training starts back in the AVS Gym on Tuesday 13th January at 5:45pm.
