An investigation has been launched into the theft of a number of valuable music instruments in a shop in Letterkenny.Burglars

Raiders appeared to have a list of ‘go to’ products which they took in the robbery earlier this week.

Among the items stolen were a number of piano accordions and also a number of fiddles.

But the raiders are understood to have ignored equally expensive items.

The exact cost of the instruments stolen is not known.

Gardai believe the instruments will either be sold here but more than likely across the border for the Christmas market.

People who have ben offered such instruments for sale at a knock-down price are asked to contact Gardai.
