There has been widespread sadness at the death of Isa Arthur, one of two sisters targeted by burglars at their home in Raphoe almost two years ago.
Isa, 92, passed away at a nursing home in Letterkenny.
Isa and sister Susan, 89 suffered a terrible ordeal at the hands of thugs who broke into their home and pushed them to the ground before ransacking their home in July 2013.
There was nationwide uproar at the incident at the time.
Suzy was hospitalised and died just four months later in October.
Their loving nephew Joe McKean said both ladies never fully recovered from being set-upon by a gang who terrorised them in their own home.
Despite a number of appeals, nobody has ever been arrested or charged in connection with the aggregated burglary at the ladies’ home.
However, many feel the brutal attack sparked a revival of the text alert scheme which saw new security measures installed in the homes of hundreds of pensioners across Donegal.
Ms Arthur will funeral will take place on Tuesday at 12:15 for service in Taughboyne Parish Church, St Johnston, for service at 1pm followed by burial in the adjoining burial ground.
