A Donegal-based parish priest originally from Tyrone has told his parishoners to pray for Donegal ahead of their Ulster Championship matchup this afternoon.
Killygordon Parish Priest Fr Patsy Atkinson jokingly gave the message to parishoners this morning at St Patrick’s Church, Crossroads.
Concluding his closing remarks during the 10am mass, Fr Atkinson reminded his parishoners where his true colours lay.
“As you may know, Tyrone are playing Donegal today at Celtic Park, Derry, this afternoon,” Fr Atkinson told the congregation.
“So as a Tyrone man, the only advice I can give to any of you Donegal folk is – if you’re prepared to take it on board – keep Donegal in your prayers. Donegal will need a lot of prayer this afternoon.”
Come throw-in this afternoon, we here at Donegal Daily can confirm rosary beads will be in-hand for fans from both counties throughout the match.
