ROSSES AC ATHLETES IN RUNNING FOR COUNTY AWARDS

Congratulations to the club nominations for the county awards night on Saturday night at the Finn Valley Centre. The club will be represented by Odhran Mac Ruairi, Fodhla McFadden, Emily Croke and Patrick Marry.
Registration Due: Reminder that registration fees for the year are now due. Prices for 2016 are: adult €20, 1st child €15, 2nd child €15, 3rd child €10, family €40. It is important that for insurance reasons only registered members of the club are permitted to attend training sessions. registration lasts for a calendar year (January – December), all membership will expire on 31st December annually regardless of which month it commenced and will need to be renewed again every January. Registration forms can be obtained at any of the club training sessions check facebook, by emailing request to rossesac@yahoo.ie for registration form.
Ulster track and field championship 2016: A reminder to juvenile athletes born 1998 – 2005 wishing to compete at the Ulster Indoors on the 6th/7th Feb that the closing dates for online entries is Tuesday 26th Jan at 12pm. The Fee is £5 or €7 per event. All athletes wishing to take part in the Ulsters must be registered with the Club. To enter athletes using the online entry option, Parents should first contact the Club on Tel:083 4665734 or email rossesac.yahoo.ie for athletes registration numbers and then chose the online entry procedure at the Athletics Northern Ireland web page. A full list of Events for the various age groups in addition to terms & conditions and the on-line Entry procedure can be found by visiting the Athletic Northern Ireland web page and choosing the Events option.
Health and Wellbeing Talks: This Saturday January 30th sees Naomh Muire GAA Club host the first of a series of Health and Wellbeing talks which aim to capture issues that are real but with solutions. At 11am in the Clubhouse at the Banks, Anita Dennison and Oisin Mc Conville will be the main speakers. Free admission and open all anyone from the community to come along to hear their courage and strength on issues of importance. The talks will start at 11am and we expect them to be over by 12.30pm.
Sportshall Athletics has started again on Mondays in RCS gym, Dungloe. First group is from 5:45pm to 6:45pm for athletes born 2006, 2007 and 2008 with coaches Leeanne Sharkey and Emer McGee. Second session is from 6:45pm to 7:45pm for athletes born 2005 and older with coaches Louise Gillespie and Sean McGinley. Fee is two euro. The Donegal Sportshall trials will take place in the Aura on Sunday 31st January.
There is sprints and relay training for the Boys and Girls U-15 Relay teams on Friday of this week, 29th, in the Industrial Estate in Gweedore from 7pm to 8pm with coaches Fergal McGee and Sean McGinley. Meet at Euroflex. Both teams will be taking part in the Ulster Indoor Athletics Ch’s in Magherafelt on Saturday 6th February.
The club will have about twenty athletes taking part in the Donegal Sportshall Athletics trials being held in the Aura on Sunday 31st January at 1.00pm. Entry fee is €5 and registration opens at 12.30 pm.

Adult training sessions have reverted back to Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Estate in Gweedore starting at 7pm. These are group sessions open to all levels of adult athletes from beginners, people looking to transition from Couch-To-5k to next level and experienced and Senior level athletes. We had a number of newcomers last week which was great to see. Paul McGee will continue to coordinate the more experienced athletes with Kathleen Rodgers coordinating the beginner and Novice level athletes. Open to public and not just Rosses members. Meet at Euroflex. All levels of athletes or runners welcome. Sunday long runs starting from the Blue Bridge – check with Paul for times.
