Sixteen jobs are at risk at a community childcare facility in Donegal due to a significant decrease in funding to the non-profit organization.

Spraoi Le Chéile, Dungloe’s Community childcare facility is in need of urgent funding.

TD’s, Directors, parents, and staff were called to an urgent meeting yesterday to discuss the future sustainability of the facility.

Spraoi Le Chéile is a state of the art, purpose built childcare facility, opened in 2011, and employs 16 full and part time staff.

It currently has 88 children registered and serves 75 families.

Michelle Hogg told Donegal Daily, “Due to a decrease in funding and in increase in operating costs, this community based, non-profit organization are appealing to the Government, community, and parents to help cover the estimated 20,000k euro shortfall, or risk future closing this vital community service.”

For more information, contact Michelle Hogg or Bridie Bonner at 0749522804.
