GLENSWILLY GAA CLUB NOTES

WELL DONE TO OUR SCOR ENTRANTS

The club would like to say a huge congratulations to both our Scor acts who made it through to the Ulster Final last weekend. Both acts did the club and their community proud and were just pipped at the post.
A huge well-done must go to both acts, Lisa O’Donnell (recitation) and the Leiriu Staiste group, for all their hard work in getting to the final.
This was no mean achievement in itself and no doubt both will be back even stronger again next year.

UNDER 10 TRAINING RESUMES

U10 training (i.e. Children with birthdays arising in the period 1/1/2006 to 31/12/2007) will resume on the Thursday 3rd March 2016 6pm to 7pm in the Hall (indoor) and continue every Thursday 6pm to 7pm.
There will be no training on Thursday the 17th or 24th March owing to the St Patrick’s Day and Easter Break.
Any Children taking part MUST BE registered with Glenswilly GAA Club in advance of taking part in the training sessions as otherwise they are not covered for insurance purposes.
For any newcomers seeking to join there will be a registration night on Friday 18th March in the clubhouse and they will be welcome to join the training sessions from 31 March 2016.
All Children must wear a gum shield during all GAA activities.
They should wear runners and bring water and €1 for each session. Further details on Glenswilly facebook page and/club notes.

U11 TRAINING

Hi all training will resume for the under 11 boys and girls this Friday, Feb 26th at 6pm. It will take place at Pairc N Columba on the grass pitch. This means Tuesday’s training is finished. Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and boots. Please bring €1 and a bottle of water. If you have not registered your child yet, please renew your registration at the next evening .

LAST REGISTRATION NIGHT

A very successful second registration night took place in the clubhouse last Friday. However, a third and FINAL registration night has now been pencilled in for March 18th from 7 until 9pm.

BINGO

Bingo continues in the hall each and every Wednesday night starting at 9pm with players encouraged to get there early.

SUMMER CAMP

Subject to club approval and availability of volunteers, it is hoped that the summer camp will run during the first week in August.
All adult and teenage helpers MUST have Garda Vetting through the club.
If you are attending the club registration evening vetting forms are available there for return to club. Alternatively, contact Ann Marie McDaid, Child Protection officer.

GUEST TEA

A Guest Tea will take place on Friday 4th March in the clubhouse. All proceeds to club funds. There are still tables available! Each table seats just eight people so it is not a huge commitment. Parents and players are encouraged to take or share a table. Volunteers also needed to help with hall preparation, Car Parking, clean up etc. Please contact Bernie Lapsley, Pauline Carberry or Deirdre McDaid.

LOTTO

The winner of last week’s lotto was Danny McDaid of Milltown, Newmills. Danny was the match three winner and the winning numbers were 9,11,18 and 20. Anybody interested in playing the lotto are reminded that they are available in local outlets including shops.

The monthly meeting (9pm) as well as the minor board meeting (7.55pm) will take place on Monday next, February 29th.
