Election staff at the Aura Election centre in Letterkenny are to burn the midnight oil to find out who is Donegal’s new TDs.
Returning Officer Geraldine O’Connor has made an announcement that they now have a prospect of finishing tonight.
Just Charlie McConalogue has been returned to the Dail after he topped the poll with 12,533 votes.
It now looks like Pearse Doherty, Pat The Cope Gallagher and Joe McHugh are likely to follow McConalogue and be heisted aloft by their supporters in the early hours.
The battle for the last seat is likely to be between Thomas Pringle and Padraig MacLochlainn.
However, commentators at the Aura suggest that Pringle will be more transfer-friendly than the Sinn Fein candidate.
