RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta’s Donegal team has received three shortlist nominations at the Celtic Media Festival.
Morning magazine programme Barrscéalta, presented by Áine Ní Churráin, is on the shortlist for Best Magazine Programme.
The show is broadcast Monday to Friday at 11 am. Rónán Beo @3 presented by Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí is in the running for an award in the Best Music Programme category. Rónán’s programme is broadcast Tuesday to Friday 3 pm – 4 pm, and regularly features live music specials.
Dónall Mac Ruairí is shortlisted for Radio Personality of the Year. Dónall presents music show Cóisir Cheoil Monday to Friday at 4.15 pm, and also presents documentary programmes during the summer on the station.
Radio series Glórtha Aduaidh, about growing up during the Troubles, is on the shortlist for Best Documentary. The series was presented by Dónall Mac Ruairí, and was a co-production with Raidió Fáilte in Belfast.
Ceannaire, or Head of station, Edel Ní Chuireáin, said: “It’s an excellent achievement for us to have these nominations to the international rounds of the Celtic Media Festival. They recognise the skill and experience of our broadcasters and production teams, and I’d like to congratulate all of the nominees. We’re very much looking forward to the festival in April, which will be returning to Ireland for the first time since 2012.”
The winners will be announced at the Celtic Media Festival in Dungarvan, Co Waterford from 20-22 April.
