untitled (1369)GARDAÍ have made a number of arrests as part of an investigation into a “sickening” attack on headstones in a Co Donegal graveyard.

Ray Church, Falcarragh was vandalised on Friday night.

The heart-broken relatives have hit out at those behind the incidents.

Gardaí were called to the scene at around 7am and detained the group of vandals responsible.

A fight had broken out between members of the group and had spilled onto the main road adjacent to the graveyard.

Gardaí have confirmed that arrests were made.

The investigation is continuing and a number of young men are expected to appear in court at a later date.
