Naomh Colmcille V’s Naomh Ultan @ Pairc Colmcille
N. Colmcille & N. Ultan shared the spoils in the opening Div3 league game @ Pairc Colmcille on Saturday evening.
N. Ultan started on the front foot and were 2pts up after 5mins with points from O’ Forreidh & MacRanaill and only for a great point blank save from Marty Callaghan in the N.Colmcille goals the home side could have been further behind.
Michael Lynch got N.Colmcille on the scoreboard when he pointed a 45m free on 7mins and further scores from Joe Donaghy, Daniel Clarke and Ryan Dowds left the home side 5pts to 4 up after 14 mins. N. Ultan restored their lead on 20mins when Breslin sent a long high ball into the square and full forward Nesbitt fisted to the net.
N. Colmcille hit back immediately with three points in quick succession with 2 frees from Joe Donaghy and a great long range effort from William Lynch.  N. Ultan’s O’Donnell got black carded on 26 mins before Nesbitt tapped over a 14m free and a well worked score from O’Forreidh left the visitors going in at half time 1 point to the good.
Half Time – N. Colmcille 00:08 N. Ultan 01:06

The home side started the second half much brighter and by the 40th minute were 2pts to the good with 3 points from Joe Donaghy& one each from Ciaran Devine & Conor Grant while Nesbitt kept N. Ultan in touch with 2 points, 1 free and 1 from play after good work from Breslin.
The visitors were back in front on 45 mins with 3 unanswered points from Shovelin &  O’Forreidh and a great long range effort from Breslin but an equally impressive William Lynch score and a pointed free from Joe Donaghy had N. Colmcille 1 point to the good again on 48mins.
N. Ultan hit the front again with a fisted point from O’Forreidh and a sweeping move the full length of the field ended with Shovelin driving it over the bar on 52 mins. Both teams’ spurned good opportunities before a Ciaran Devine equaliser duly arrived on 57mins to tie the game.  N.Colmcille were in the ascendancy in the last few minutes but couldn’t capitalise and N. Ultan held on for a deserved share of the points in a game none of the teams deserved to lose.
Final score    N. Colmcille 00:16   N. Ultan 01:13.
Best for N. Colmcille – Joe Donaghy, Oran Hilley, Daniel Clarke

Best for N. Ultan – Breslin & Nesbitt.
