DD HEALTH WATCH: ONLINE KITCHEN TO HELP CONSUMERS MAKE BETTER CHOICES

kitchenDD HEALTH WATCH: A European consumer group has launched an interactive online kitchen, aimed at helping consumers to make healthy choices about what they eat.

‘What’s in your kitchen?’ was launched by BEUC – the European Consumer Organisation. It contains facts and figures about food from across Europe and provides consumers with useful tips about healthy eating.

For example, on the section about alcohol, it points out that a pint of beer can have as many calories as a chocolate bar, while a glass of red wine can have as many calories as a doughnut.

BEUC defends the interests of consumers throughout Europe and represents 41 national consumer organisations in 31 European countries.
