DD FOOD: GOOD FOOD KARMA CAMPAIGN LAUNCH AND A CHANCE TO WIN SUPERVALU SHOPPING VOUCHERS

unnamed-33Ireland’s leading grocery retailer Supervalu hopes to inspire the people of Donegal to create memorable mealtime moments with the launch of its Good Food Karma campaign.

To get the nation behind the Good Food Karma project SuperValu are encouraging the people of Ireland to create their own Good Food Karma Circle.

Share your mealtime recipes with loved ones and pay it forward.  How?

Identify four family members or friends over a four week period, start with you cooking for them and then they cook for you and so on.

While you are having fun, share your experiences, your hints, tips and recipes using #goodfoodkarma @supervaluirl to be in with the chance to win SuperValu shopping vouchers.

The Good Food Karma Project will focus on four key food moments; healthy breakfast, healthy mid-week meal, Friday night in and the backbone of every Irish family, the Sunday roast.

SuperValu’s team of ambassadors includes celebrity chefs Kevin Dundon, Martin Shanahan and athletes Bernard Brogan, David Gillick,as well as the faces of The Happy Pear Stephen and Dave Glynn as well as Anna Geary.

Celebrity chef Kevin Dundon told Donegal Daily: “Cooking from scratch gives you control – control of what you and your family are eating, and by encouraging your children to join you in the kitchen and teaching them how to cook, you are giving them a lifelong gift that they will use their entire lives and pass on to their children, so a win-win situation all around!

“In this busy hectic world it can be difficult to find the time to prepare a nutritious meal from scratch every night. But good meals don’t need to take too long to prepare – and just cooking one extra meal from scratch per week can make a great difference.”

This team of brand ambassadors has created a series of recipes, videos and blog posts, all available at supervalu.ie, with the aim of inspiring Irish people to eat less processed food.

To support the campaign further, the team will be hitting the road this summer to visit communities across Ireland and give demonstrations to help people improve their culinary skills.

Inspirational recipes, meal time tips and ideas from the SuperValu experts and from real people and for more on SuperValu’s Good Food Karma visit www.supervalu.ie/real-food/good-food-karma or find SuperValu Ireland on Facebook.
