DELIGHT FOR MALIN STAR AOIFE MCCOLGAN AS DONEGAL WIN DIVISION TWO TITLE

AOIFE McCOLGAN                                                                                                               The club would like to congratulate Aoife McColgan and her Donegal teammates after their LIDL Division 2 League final victory against Westmeath on Saturday  in Parnell Park. Aoife only found out hours before the game that she would be starting. She made a number of excellent saves, made great kickouts and had an all-round brilliant display, much to the delight of large group of Malin supporters, who the ladies brought to the game and a fantastic occasion was had by all. Well done to Aoife, she has done her club and county proud.

KILLYBEGS 3-05 MALIN 1-10                                                                                                     Malin seniors lost away on Saturday to Killybegs on a scoreline of Killybegs 3-05 Malin 1-10. Next week sees the start of the Michael Murphy Sports Senior Championship with Malin facing Sean MacCumhaill’s at home on Sunday. The sides played two weeks ago in a very tight match which saw MacCumhaill’s getting the victory. Last year’s championship also seen the Ballybofey-Stranorlar side draw their championship meeting after conceding a controversial late penalty

Subs used: Andrew Mullin for Conor Quigley, Ciaran Doherty (D) for Conor Gallagher, Robert Boggs for Joseph Doherty (PM), Conor Kelly for Daniel Houghton, Padraig McCarron for Conor McGeogeghan, Sean O’Neill, Sean Byrne, Fergal Monagle and Thomas Mullin. They are back in action this Wednesday again in the County Division 2 League semi-final  The Under 16’s lost out to Urris in the Darren Downey/Gary McLaughlin Inishowen B-final on Sunday  in Burt on a scoreline of Malin 2-07 Urris 1-15. The team on the night was Ronan Lafferty, , Oran Doherty, Ronan Kelly, Matthew Mullarkey, Jason Mullarkey, Kealan White, Josh Conlon, Daniel Houghton, Ciaran Doherty, Jack McLaughlin, Sean O’Neill, Liam Doherty, Sean Byrne, Cormac Conlan and Martin O’Connor. Subs used Pauric O’Donnell, Ronan McLaughlin, Thomas O’Brien. They have no game this week. Malin have made it through to the Joe McGeady Under 14 A-final on Sunday 15th of  May in Moville, throw in 7.00pm, well done to Liam O’Neill, John McLaughlin and Eamonn Ward and all their squad. The under 14’s played Gaoth Dobhair in Northern Board Division 1 semi-final on Monday night, see Facebook for result. The under 12’s boys  are at home to Burt on Tuesday. The under 12 girls have their first league match this Tuesday against Urris at 5.00pm in Malin. Malin under 10 and 8 girls had great matches against St. Eunan’s on Sunday with all girls showing great skills and improvement, they play Carndonagh this Satuday.
