The Volkswagen Passat that was stolen has been found and returned!

A car callously stolen by thieves has been relocated and returned to its owners at Modern Motors, Mountain Top, Letterkenny.

The car was found in a car park in Northern Ireland, after it was stolen from the popular garage on Tuesday night.

An online appeal was sparked on Wednesday, and the appeal for information went viral on social media.

A spokesman for Modern Motors has thanked Donegal Daily readers for their incredible response to the news the car was stolen.

A spokesman said, “On behalf of all at Modern Motors, we just want to say a massive thank you to everybody who liked, shared and retweeted the appeal for information.

“The amount of calls and texts we got was incredible, and it was just fantastic to see the support we got.

“Thankfully the car has been found and returned to us, there’s some minor damage, but nothing serious, we’re just delighted to have it back.

“I want to thank Donegal Daily, and its readers, and I also want to thank the Gardaí and the PSNI whose combined efforts ensured the cars return.”

Now that’s a good news story for a Friday!
