GAA NEWS: GLENSWILLY LAUNCH GIRLS ACADEMY THIS WEEKEND

Launch of the Glenswilly Girls Academy

The launch of the Glenswilly Girls Academy takes place this Saturday at 6.30pm at the pitch. The evening will begin with a talk to all parents and girls. The academy is aimed at all girls from minor down. After the talk, a short skills session will take place on the pitch so all girls are asked to wear their gear and bring their boots. All coaches with foundation level and Garda vetting are asked to come along. For any further information on the launch, please contact any member of the Ladies senior team or any members of the ladies committee. The launch including the short skills session should be finished around 8pm.

U13s boys

The U13s will be getting their season underway in the next couple of weeks and texts will be sent to all players in advance of training.

Lotto

Last week’s lotto winner was Theresa Tyrell from Letterkenny who matched three numbers. The winning numbers were 4,8, 9 and 18. Lottos are available at all local outlets.

Bingo

The bingo continues in the hall every Wednesday at 9pm with some great cash prizes on offer each week.

Tickets

Hard luck to Neil, Michael and the boys at Clones but well done to the minors including Paddy McGinty who was part of their backroom team. Up next is Cork at Croke Park and anyone interested in tickets should email club secretary at aislingmcdaid@hotmail.com.

Senior and reserve game change

Due to the Donegal vs Cork game at Croke Park, the seniors and reserves will be in action this weekend, Sunday, against St Eunans. The reserves throw-in at 1.30pm while the senior game starts at 3pm.

Thirds

The thirds are away to Glenfin on Saturday night in the championship with a throw-in time of 7pm.

U16s boys

The U16 boys travel to Buncrana on Wednesday week, July 27th in the league with a throw-in time of 7.30pm.

Ladies Notes

The Glenswilly ladies team won their match convincingly at home on Saturday evening. The final Score in this game of the Junior B Championship Glenswilly 3-7 Killybegs 1-8.

Under 12 girls

Glenswilly hosted a blitz on Saturday. Our girls played well and did their club proud, but St. Naul’s were the winners on the day.
Thanks to all who helped to make the blitz it a success, and to those who coached and helped the girls all year.

Under 14 Girls

Congratulations to Under 14 girls who won the Division 2 County Final against Naomh Mhuire on 7th July.
Under 14 season is now finished. Thanks to the girls for all their hard work and commitment this year and to all who helped with coaching, match trips etc.

Under 16 and 18 training continues on Monday 6.15 – 7.30pm at the training pitch. All girls welcome.

The Minor competition is to start this week with Under 16 competition starting in August.

The minor girls play two games this week -Tuesday 19th against Naomh Colmcille and Friday, July 22nd. Both are at 7pm and both are at home.
