GAA News: Urris U12 girls triumph over Steelstown

U12C girl’s final:
Well Done to our U12 Girls who won the U12C final on Sunday evening Buncrana beating Steelstown by 2-06 to 0-05. Thanks to Susan Mc Carron, Marie Harkin and all who help out with this team. Thanks to all who supported the girls on the night too.

 

Junior A&B Championship: 
Senior men were away to Letterkenny Gaels in the Junior A Championship on Saturday night and lost out by a point final score Urris 1-08 Gaels 0-12.

On Sunday our Reserves played Red Hughs the Junior B Championship, final score Urris 2-12 Red Hughs 1-09. Next games are Convoy & Downings for both teams in the championship, please check our Facebook page for updates.

 

Senior & reserve football:
Both teams down to play Naomh Colmcille, Newtown in the Division 3 league on Wednesday night. Please check our Facebook pages for times for these two fixtures.

 

Super Valu kits for kids:
Super Valu (Buncrana & Carndonagh) Kits for Kids: If you are shopping in Super Valu this weekend or any day, if you spend over €40 you will receive a voucher/receipt, Please pop this in the Urris GAA Box at the front door beside notice board to help towards receiving some kits for our Under Age teams. We need 2,000 tokens. Extended to July 30th now.

 

Bingo:
Club bingo every Thursday night at 9.00pm in St Mary’s Hall, Clonmany. Please come along and support our weekly bingo, numbers have been dropping of late so bring a friend or two. Any funds raised goes directly into the club to help with day to day finances.

Inishowen U10 girl’s finals day:
CLG Iorras would like to say a big thank you to all involved in Saturday’s finals in Straid. A massive thanks to Siobhan Devlin from our club for the effort she put into this event. Siobhan would like to thank our U10 girls who battled hard on the day and showed great skill and talent on the pitch. It was unfortunate that a win didn’t come our way but there is always next year, Siobhan and Sandra are very proud of all these girls.

Thanks to the following: Susan Mc Carron for looking after all teams and scores, Referees-Nichola Lagan, Niall Rafferty, Ann Harkin & Stephen Cooney, all parents for supporting,baking, bought goodies, made tea etc, linesmen and umpires, participating clubs for attending and Jim Kelly for setting up the pitches. Thanks a million for all who gave their time on Saturday. There is a great support network in the club, a great day was had by one and all. Congratulations to Buncrana who won the B final and to Naomh Padraig, Muff on winning the A final.

 

Underage training schedule:
U9 boys & girls: Training Tuesday at 6.00pm.
U11 boys & girls: Saturday at 11am to 12 noon.

Night at the races:
In Mac Tams on Saturday August 13th. Horses now on sale at €10 from all players and committee members.

 

Annual big breakfast:
Our Big Breakfast takes place in St Mary’s Hall, Clonmany on Saturday August 6th from 9am to 1pm. Breakfast €6.
