Donegal Karate Kids’ outstanding performance in international competition

Members of Three-Rivers Shotokan Karate Club after returning from this year’s Rene Smaal Summer Camp & International Kumite & Kata Cup Ireland 2016 held in the Citywest Hotel Dublin at the weekend.

Like last year this was a very well ran three day event under the watchful eye of one of the world’s leading Kumite athletes Rene Smaal from Holland and again proved to be very succesfull outing for the club from Lifford.

Medal winners were Natasha Doherty Gold in Kumite and silver in Kata, Ciarán Crawford Gold in both Kumite and Kata, Eoin Crawford not to be outdone by his older brother also took Gold in both Kumite and Kata, Ryan Doherty Bronze in Kata, Mark Doherty Bronze in Kumite, Jamie-Lee Simpson Silver in Kumite and Bronze in Kata and Brodie Hannigan Bronze in Both Kumite and Kata.

Next up for the club is the JKS World Championships to be held in Glasgow in September.
