CRIME ALERT: Fraudsters pretending to be from SKY have been contacting homes all over Donegal in an attempt to dupe customers into giving them a refund.
The callous con artists have been bombarding homes all over the county with calls in an effort to retrieve bank details from homeowners – claiming they’re owed money.
The callers are requesting homeowners to make refunds to them claiming there owed money – under the pretence that they are representatives of global giant SKY.
Scammers buy up a range of numbers from several databases. They are calling unsuspecting customers of SKY and asking them for a refund to gain bank details.
A Donegal Daily reader posted the following on Facebook, “Watch out for bogus phone calls from sky to refund tell them to P**s off…guards have been notified.”
Gardaí are urging home owners to be vigilant and to make sure not to give any details over the phone.
