Ah lads! Stop! We’re still only in the middle of August, but yet the Christmas madness has begun already!

Some shoppers were left bemused and stunned earlier today when they spotted tins of popular Christmas confectionary Quality Street and Roses on sale at Dunnes Stores in Letterkenny.

The popular items, are traditionally associated with Christmas, and tins of both products are only available at Christmas.

The decision to begin stocking Christmas goods has maddened many shoppers, who are universal in their agreement that it is too soon!

Emer Boyle, who spotted the items for sale, told Donegal Daily, “I couldn’t believe it when I seen tins of Quality Street and Roses for sale earlier today.

“I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas, but this is just ridiculous, it’s the middle of August.

“I know retailers stock products for Christmas quite early, it’s been well documented in the past, but I’ve never heard of them stocking products in August.

“It’s just crazy, it’s still another two months until Halloween, as I said I love Christmas, but this is madness!”

Christmas just seems to be getting earlier every year, yesterday, iRadio reported that one major retailer in Ireland has already started stocking Christmas candles in their outlets.

Seriously, it’s August? People are still heading away on their summer holidays!
