GAA News: Buncrana draw with Burt in very tense match

Senior Football Championship:

Burt 08 – Buncrana 08

Neither side could be separated this weekend when championship took our seniors to Hibernian Park. This was never going to be an easy task from the outset with many years of local history between both teams.

Minor Championship:

Buncrana minors played Convoy in football championship this week. A win for the minors was gained from a combination of young players and some of last years minors. A strong performance by Noel McLaughlin in the second half, great work over 60 mins by JP Mc Kenna and determination by Ben Bradley saw Buncrana become comfortable winners in the end. They play Muff in championship action this Tuesday in Muff.

Camps:

Over the last 2 weeks found the Scarvey to be a hive of activity as it ran Buncrana GAA’s Annual Summer Camp with over 70 U6’s the first week and Over 160 U8, U10 & U12’s the 2nd week. With over 230 children kitted out with Club tracksuits and happy faces, words cant express how grateful we are to the people who made this possible, from Coaches, Buddies, to special guests to the people who worked behind the scenes to make these two weeks so enjoyable and safe. A lot of credit must go to Elizabeth Ann Nelson for all her hard work. Thank you until next year…..

Hurling:

Well Done to our U8 & U10 Hurlers who travelled to convoy on Sunday for the last Blitz of the season a great turnout and with the U10’s leaving unbeaten, shows that Hurling is as strong as ever in the Scarvey. TRaining continues every Sunday from 11am 12pm. New members always welcome
