Girls Football at Ballyraine FC

Girls football is growing from strength to strength at Ballyraine FC. The club has registered their highest number of girls for many years in the u8 to u10 age groups. This year’s intake will give the club a good foundation to establish a number of girls teams over the coming months.

Oran Grimes, club PRO said, “We’re delighted to see girls getting involved in soccer”. “Women’s soccer is growing nationally and very much part of the FAI strategic development plan”. “We’re delighted to be playing our part in the development of women’s soccer locally”.

Ballyraine FC has also expanded its coaching staff this year. Female coach Nina Singaroyan has joined the coaching team and will be working with the under 8s and under 9 boys and girls. Nina comes from a family steeped in football history. She is the daughter of former Finn Harps manager and Sligo Rovers stalwart Chris Rutherford. She is currently doing a Masters Degree in Sports and Exercise Nutrition at University of Ulster at Jordanstown. Nina’s cousin Emma Hansberry is a Senior Irish International who plays in the Women’s national League with Wexford Youths.

Girls wishing to play football for Ballyraine FC should contact club registrar Kieran Shiels on (087) 998 4749 or come along to training 5:30pm to 6:30pm on a Thursday night. New boys and girls welcome at all age groups. Any Ladies interested in getting involved in coaching at Ballyraine FC should contact Club PRO Oran Grimes on (086) 160 0520.
