Everton manager Ronald Koeman has expressed his delight at having Seamus Coleman available to him again after injury.

Coleman injured his ankle in pre-season, and hasn’t played for Everton so far this term.

Coleman will start tonight against Sunderland who are managed by David Moyes, who signed Coleman from Sligo Rovers in 2009.

He did feature for Ireland in their 2-2 draw with Serbia, and will make his first appearance of the season under new manager Koeman who joined from Southampton following the dismissal of Roberto Martinez last May.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s match on Sky Sports, Koeman expressed his delight that Coleman is fit to play again.

“Seamus is a talented player, and he is very good offensively, we know this is a big strength of his.

“We like to play a certain way, and to do it, it’s important we have offensive full-backs, and we have that in Seamus and Leighton (Baines).

“It’s great to have him back fully fit, and I hope he can continue to perform as well as he has in recent seasons for Everton, he’s a brilliant player.”
