Glenswilly GAA Club notes

Congratulations

Congratulation to the Thirds on a brilliant win at the weekend in the MM sports Senior C Champiosnhip against Glenties at O’Donnell Park. The final score was Glenswilly 1-05 Glenties 0.06. The lads started really brightly but credit to Naomh Chonail who never gave up and put in a massive second half display to push Glen all the way. In the end, led by some brilliant performances from the likes of Mickey McDaid and Ciaran Gallagher, the lads got over the line. Brilliant year for this team having won both League and the Championship. Well done once again to Manus, Sean, their backroom team and the players themselves. Word is they partied even more than the seniors and why not?

Seniors

The senior team have secured their place in the All Sports Division 1 League for 2017 after a hard-fought battle with neighbours Termon on Sunday in Glenswilly. The final score Glenswilly 2-07 Termon 0.10. This was the team’s last home league game of the season and a large crowd showed up to watch the game.

The club would like to thank all the tea ladies, field committee, lotto sellers, club umpires/ lines men, shop assistants, the men who parked the cars and everyone who helped out this year at all our home games and especially all our the proud Glenswilly supporters. We had another amazing year but such huge work goes on in the background that it would be impossible to thank everyone.

Jivers Dance

There will be a dance this Friday night, 28th October in the Station House Hotel for all the new jivers. Everyone is welcome. Tickets are available from Elaine McFadden. All levels of dancers are welcome for what promises to be a great night. All proceeds will go to the renovation of the dressing rooms.
