The ONAKAI National Junior kumite Championships held in Dublin at the weekend marked the end of the competition calendar for the Three-Rivers Shotokan Karate-Club and what a way to mark it with the club returning with 3 National titles, a silver and a bronze medal leaving them third overall in the participating clubs medals table, a massive achievement indeed considering the standard of Karate involved with ONAKAI recognised as the governing body of Karate in Ireland.

Natasha Doherty won gold in the Girls 10-11 years +35kg, Emma Dolan gold in the Girls 12-13 years +42kg and Ciarán Crawford gold in the Boys 10-11 years +35kg section, Jamie-Lee Simpson was very unlucky to narrowly loose out on gold in the final of the Girls 12-13 years -42kg and young Eoin Crawford at just 6 years of age is already making a name for himself in his first year of competing with a well deserved bronze in the Boys 6-7 years open.

The Club would like to wish the Senior ONAKAI team all the best as they take on the best in the world at the Karate World Championships being held in Linz Austria.
