GAA: New chairman and senior manager at Glenswilly

AGM

There was a great turn-out for the AGM in the clubhouse on Sunday afternoon last.

On the day there were a number of changes to the committee as well as a number of managerial changes at various levels.

Peter McConnell, having served the club as chairman for the past two years, stepped down and was replaced by Eddie Crawford.

John McGinley also stepped down as assistant treasurer and was replaced by Declan Doherty who will work alongside treasurer Bryan Faul.

The most noteworthy managerial appointment was that of senior team manager which was filled by Aidy Glackin as Michael Canning stepped aside after two years.

The following is a list of various appointments which were ratified on the day.

Assistant Secretary – Martin Hunter
Treasurer – Bryan Faul
Assistant Treasurer – Declan Doherty

Glenswilly GAA 25 Card Drive

Last Friday night there was a huge turnout once again at our annual card drive. People from all over Donegal came to play.

The winners were: Patrick McLaughlin from Malin and Con Sheridan from Rathmullan.

The Barney Pat Memorial cup is heading to Malin this year won by Patrick McLaughlin. Massive thank you to all who traveled and took part. The Club wish to thank Hughie Canning and James

Pat for organising this event, the tea ladies and our sponsors.

Underage Presentation

The annual Underage presentations will take place on Sunday 4th Dec in the Club hall at 5pm.

Dinner dance

The Annual 2016 Dinner Dance is on 1st Jan 2017 in the Silver Tassie.

Lotto

The winner of last week’s club lotto was Edel Frize who matched three numbers. The winning numbers were 1, 5, 9 and 13. The lotto is one of the main generators of funds for the club and are available in most local outlets.

Bingo

Bingo continues in the hall each and every Wednesday starting at 9pm with more than €2,000 in prize money on offer each night.

National Club Draw 2017

Club will be looking for volunteers to sales tickets for this years draw. Each ticket will be entered into 3 draws (National Croke Park draw/ County Board Draw/ Glenswilly GAA club Draw) Cost per ticket is €10. The Club will be put up 3 cash prizes. County Board prizes in the National Club Draw 2017 Prize fund will amount to €2,500, made up of 1 x €1000 2 x €500, 5 x €100.

As and from the 1st December 2016 CLG Dun na nGall will have an Annual Club Pass for sale for the 2017 Season. This pass will give admission to all **Adult League & Championship matches under the control of Donegal GAA for 2017 Season. The pass has an RRP of €149. Orders for 2017 Club Pass Orders will be taken via email to the County Office from the Club Secretary E-mail address only. Closing Date for Orders from clubs will be March 17th.
