GOLF NEWS: On Thurs 24 November the 2016 Ladies AGM was held in the Barnhill clubhouse. There was a great turnout of ladies despite the very frosty night.
The outgoing Captain Jackie Ireland had the very happy duty on the night to welcome and install the new Capt Mary Fowley for 2017.
She also welcomed the new Vice Capt Maura Cavanagh. The new committee was then selected, with many new faces willing to give of their time for the continuation of the running of the ladies club.
There were a number of presentations also.
First up was that talented golfer Marian O Sullivan with three awards. The Sept pendant, the silver medal, and winner of the ‘ Birdie’tree.
The lady golfer of the year went to Anne Cannon. Next up was Angela Bradley receiving the silver spoon. It was then Margo Birmingham’s turn, she was awarded the Bronze medal.
Heartiest congratulations to the ladies above who starred in 2016.
Finally the ladies are all looking forward to their annual Christmas party on Fri 2nd Dec where the turkey and hamper winners will receive their prizes. A fitting end to the golfing year of 2016 and the anticipation of the many games to be played in 2017
