A 15 year old girl has been awarded €19,000 after she was hurt in a car accident in Letterkenny in 2014.
The accident happened when the girl was a front seat passenger which was rear-ended at the Oatfield Roundabout at Ramelton Road.
The girl was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital and was diagnosed as having suffered soft tissue injury as well as pains in her chest at a later stage.
The pains lasted for more than seventeen months and the girl suffered from these complaints while she was playing or carrying shopping bags.
The matter was brought before today’s sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court for approval.
Judge John O’Hagan approved the sum and ordered that €500 be given to the girl’s mother in advance and to bank the remainder of the award until the girl reaches the age of 18.
