Stranorlar schoolgirl Emily Kelly travels to New York today as she gets ready to compete in the world-famous Millrose Games on Saturday.

The St Mary’s NS girl will be in action on Saturday at the Armory in Washington Heights after winning ‘Ireland’s Fastest Feet’ in Athlone back in December.

Emily won the Donegal final at Finn Valley AC when children were tested on their fastest speed over a ‘flying 20 metres’, while she went on to top the group in Ireland over 60m in Athlone at the Athlone IT Indoor Arena.

Emily now heads off to the Big Apple with mum and dad, Anne Marie and David, and her big sister Maria.

“It is the journey of a lifetime at such a young age for her to be competing against the best that New York has to offer,” said Finn Valley AC’s Patsy McGonagle.
