Horgan to run the rule over trialist as Harps head for Sligo

Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan is expected to feature another trialist tonight when he takes his side to The Showgrounds for a pre-season friendly.

Horgan was dealt a blow when Togo midfielder Thomas Amegnaglo was denied a work permit having showed up well in training and in a friendly against the Inishowen League.

Harps have also had Aizi Nahanod on trial, but it is said to be unlikely that he will be retained. Nahanod played in last week’s win over Institute at the Riverside Stadium.

Harps continue to run the rule over ex-Institute winger Jamie Dunne, who is also trying to win a contract with Harps, who begin their 2017 campaign on Friday-week with a home game against Cork City.

Horgan is believed to have another trialist to try out tonight as they face Dave Robertson’s Sligo in what is their penultimate pre-season clash – on Saturday they take on Cabinteely.

Kick-off in Sligo is at 7.45.
