Five young people from the Parish of Kilmacrennan will travel to Medjugorje and to Lourdes this Easter and May.
The community each year along with Parish Priest Fr. Paddy Dunne encourages and supports the young people of the parish to take part in these pilgrimages.
This year after mass on St. Patrick’s Day, as part of a fundraising effort, the youth are organising a St. Patricks Day Social at Kilmacrennan’s Primary School Gym and everyone is welcome.
This year all money raised will go towards their pilgrimage trip and they will donate funds from the St. Patrick’s Day Social to two worthy causes. The Bumbulance and The Friends of Ronan Sweeney Rehabilitation Fund will both receive donations from their efforts.
Nicole Doherty, Darragh Russell, Ann Marie Doherty, Caolan Gallagher & Hannah Downey will be selling Shamrock Pots after Mass this weekend & next weekend on the run up to the St. Patrick’s Day Social. The St. Patrick’s Day Social will be a community event & tea, coffee & refreshments will be served after mass,
They will have traditional Irish Music & Irish Dancing and a raffle on the day and the event will be compered by Oisin Kelly. Admission is free and all donations welcome.
“The Friends of Ronan Sweeney Rehabilitation Fund and The BUMBLEance Children’s Ambulance Service are both very worthy causes and I am delighted that the youth in our parish are coming together to support these charities. It also makes our community very proud that so many young people from our parish want to travel to Medjugorje and to Lourdes every year and we would like to wish them all safe and spiritual travels”, says Fr. Dunne.
