Sean Mac Cumhaills issue SOS for match stewards

Match Stewards:

Donegal host Tyrone this Saturday. We will need a lot of stewards and help with shops etc. to ensure it runs smoothly. If you are available can you let Alan Martin, Club Secretary, know to confirm on 086 172 3899. We would ask all members to give up a few hours as an event like this is so important to the club.

Football Fixtures:

The reserve game against Termon was postponed. The seniors were absent a number of players but played really well in the second half and were unlucky not to earn at least a draw. Despite being 7 points down at one stage and trailing by 5 points at half time the lads put in a strong fightback and really took the game to the visitors. Some fine scores from Martin O’Reilly, a goal from Stephen Mulligan, points from Michael Lynch and Gary Wilson took the scores back to a 1 point difference but Termon held out for the game points. Final score: Seán Mac Cumhaills 1.11 – Termon 2.09. Next week both reserves and seniors travel to play Ballyshannon next Sunday.

Senior Football Championship Draw:

We’ve been drawn in Group A of the Senior Football Championship for the campaign ahead. The other teams are Bundoran, Malin and St. Michaels. We have one home game this year.

Donegal Senior Hurling:

Well done to the Donegal Hurlers in beating Monaghan in O’Donnell Park on Sunday by 1.21 to 2.13. Lee Henderson was deadly on the dead ball situations once again and recorded 8 points in the game with 7 from frees. Jamsie Donnelly also started the game.

Under-14 Boys Football:

Training for the boys U14 Gaelic team continues this Wednesday from 6 to 7 on the Astro pitch, for boys born in ’03 & ’04. Please bring gum shield, water, weather appropriate gear and €3.

Registration:

Final Registration night is next Thursday 16th of March for all members in the Clubhouse from 7.30 to 9.30pm. Club membership forms for Juvenile, Adult and Family are available from all club coaches/managers and to download from our website (www.seanmaccumhaill.com).  Registration is extremely important and non-registration will result in yourself or your child not being insured and unable to train or play for the club so please register as soon as possible. New members are more than welcome. Membership must be paid before March 31st, please ensure you register before this date.

Bingo:

The Bingo takes place in the Villa Rose on Sunday night with an 8.30pm start. The Snowball jackpot is €9,000 for 45 numbers or less. All are very welcome.

Lotto:

Congratulations to Denise Harley who was the winner of our Club Lotto. Denise matched all 4 numbers (7, 9, 11 and 21) and claimed the €10,000 prize! Congratulations Denise. Our draw starts next week again at an incredible €5,000 and Gary Dunnion’s team is selling.

The club are looking for people to help out by selling lotto’s. All help available would be greatly appreciated. If interested please contact Terry O’Reilly on 086 609 5347.

Club Shop:

The club shop is now open on a Wednesday evening from 6.30 to 7.15pm. The shop has club crested shorts, socks and bags. We also have small sized hurling helmets in club colours with crest now half price at €55. The Club Shop also has a very limited number of new club items remaining in stock from the order before Christmas.

Club Notes:

Any member wishing to have items added to the club notes can email maccumhaillspro@gmail.com before Sunday for inclusion.

Training Schedule:

Training takes place at the club unless otherwise specified. If there is a change of time/location it will be noted on Facebook or sent via text from the team manager. Training will cost €3 once a week and all players must have their membership paid. Please bring gum shield/helmet and a bottle of water. Other training info sent via group messages/Facebook.
