Make your Wedding Day wonderful at Castle Grove

Castle Grove Country House Hotel are hosting their annual Wedding Fayre this weekend, Sunday March 19th from 2pm-5pm.

Last week on Donegal Daily, the team at Castle Grove County House Hotel revealed the key factors to consider when choosing your wedding reception venue. (Click here to read the column). This week, ahead of their Wedding Fayre on Sunday March 19th, the CG team share the reasons why it is a truly unique wedding venue in Donegal.

Exclusive Country House – the house is exclusive for your wedding party which makes the party feel more intimate and truly like an extended version of your home.

Arrive in Style – the sweeping driveway up around the lawns allow for making the perfect entrance, and a great spot to get some photos on arrival.

Outdoor Gazebo Bar – Guests enjoying drinks outside, relaxing and mingling whilst the bridal party take their photographs on the lawns and in the drawing rooms, there is a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure on guests or bridal party and plenty of seating for elderly guests to relax either outdoors or indoors. If weather permits the arrival reception canapes can be served outside while guests enjoy the sun.

Music on Arrival – Beautiful music playing, the romance of a celloist playing on the steps or in the drawing rooms whilst the guests are mingling enjoying the arrival reception.

Themes – if you are doing a theme you can put nods to your theme starting at the gates, and all the way from the front door to the top table, we have seen some amazing country chic trends, 1920’s themed events, Old Hollywood glamour, and color coordinated themes with the bows and balloons starting at the gates. it’s always fun and special to create your own moment.

Talk to the team, as we have tons of ideas on how to decorate with a budget in mind – where to get the wow moment and then where to just do enough to pull in to the overall look.

Decorating the dining room – what we can provide in terms of flowers and help with tablescape ideas.

Food – Our food is what we are most proud of –  We are a “cook to order venue”!

We give each plate the love and attention as if it was a dinner party for six, and when every single plate comes out to you and your guests with freshly cooked to order food, you will not be disappointed.

We source all foods locally and organically grow our vegetables in our own 4-acre historic walled garden.

Cooking to order for weddings is rare and it something we are very passionate about.  We want all our brides, grooms and guests to have a great meal and enjoy every moment of the day.

The Party – Incorporate your own personal touches as the band plays.

Some fun things that we have seen done beautifully:

  • Irish Dancers
  • Family performers doing a special piece.

When the venue is truly only your guests, you can really create special moments and when guest need to take a break they can retreat to drawing rooms and still be with the wedding guests and not disconnected from the party.

There are tons of other ideas – come out and check it out for yourself. Look through the real bride’s gallery to get some more ideas…

Marquee Weddings – The main house caters to 125 guests +/- 10 comfortably, however we can offer Marquee Weddings for up to 220 guest if required. We recommend discussing this with the team and they will help you put together a marquee wedding where you can still incorporate the main house. All food is still cooked to order for this type of event.

“Exclusivity and Care” – This is what your wedding at Castle Grove means to our team at CG and we will ensure that your wedding co-ordinator is on hand to take care of any requests, especially the morning of the wedding. Irene, your wedding co-ordinator is available to organize everything from calling a cab, to getting last minute buttons fixed, organizing errands of little forgotten tasks, basically doing all we can to ensure a stress free and wonderful day for all.

The team at Castle Grove look forward to welcoming you on Sunday!
