Football fans across the country are tonight in shock and mourning following the tragic death of the Derry City captain, Ryan McBride.

The 27-year-old was found dead in his bedroom this evening.

McBride played for Derry City yesterday in their 4-0 win over Drogheda United and last Monday night scored one of the goals in a 3-1 win over League champions Dundalk.

The 27-year-old McBride lived at Bluebellhill Gardens, just next to Brandywell Stadium.
