Donegal supporters up in arms at Ulster U21 final venue

The EirGrid Ulster Under-21 final has been fixed for Monday evening at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh.

The Donegal-Derry clash will be held in the Armagh venue at 8pm.

Donegal last night scored an impressive 3-17 to 0-13 win over Cavan at Brewster Park, while Derry defeated Armagh after extra-time in a cracking contest at Celtic Park.

A source close to the Donegal camp said that Donegal had offered a coin toss to stage the final, but it is understood that Derry turned it down.

Donegal are believed to have submitted a written request for a coin toss to take place, but the two counties have to have to agree before the Ulster Council would sanction the toss.

The decision to take the final to Armagh has left many Donegal supporters enraged with fans in west Donegal, for example, facing a two-and-a-half-hour trek on a Monday evening to a venue known for its heavy traffic.
