Donegal manager Rory Gallagher has named a strong team to face New York at Gaelic Park tonight.

Donegal are in the Big Apple on a fundraising mission this week and will play New York tonight and again on Saturday night.

Throw-in is 12.30am Irish time (7.30pm NY time) and Gallagher has deployed the likes of Michael Murphy, Patrick McBrearty, Karl Lacey, Paddy McGrath and Martin O’Reilly in tonight’s starting XV.

The Donegal Under-21s weren’t able to make the trip as they prepare for Saturday’s All-Ireland Under-21 semi-final against Dublin in Cavan.

Killybegs man Jason Noctor and Ballybofey’s Gavin Gallagher will be part

The trip is being funded by Donegal New York and the New York County Board.

The trip came following a conversation between Gallagher and Buncrana native Keelan McLaughlin, who is the Chairman of Donegal New York. Gallagher also spoke with Pettigo native Lawrence McGrath who is the New York Board Chairman.

The invitation for Donegal to travel had been extended before, but it is only now that the dates and schedules suit.

New York are preparing to host Sligo in the Connacht SFC on May 7th.

Donegal: Peter Boyle: Paddy McGrath, Eamonn McGrath, Karl Lacey; Paul Brennan, Eamonn Doherty, Martin O’Reilly; Hugh McFadden, Ciaran Thompson; Daniel McLaughlin, Mark McHugh, Conor Gibbons; Patrick McBrearty, Michael Murphy, Eoin McHugh. Subs: Michael Boyle, Frank McGlynn, Enda McCormack, Neil McGee, Martin McElhinney, Jason Noctor, Gavin Gallagher, Ryan McHugh, Darach O’Connor, Mark Anthony McGinley.
