This month VHI celebrates 10 years of business at its business centre in Údarás na Gaeltachta’s Business Park, Gaoth Dobhair.
Currently employing 20 people, the office in Gaoth Dobhair is mainly responsible for communications with Vhi customers in respect of Multi-Trip from Vhi, Ireland’s No 1 travel insurance product in Ireland and Vhi International which provides private medical insurance for those travelling abroad for six months or more.
Speaking at an event to mark 10 years here in Gaoth Dobhair, John O’Dwyer, CEO, Vhi said they are delighted they took the decision 10 years ago to establish a business centre here in Gaoth Dobhair.
“Our experience to date has been very positive and we are very pleased that we have continually been able to recruit from the skilled competitive workforce locally which initially was one of the key reasons for our decision to have an office in Gaoth Dobhair .
“The team here also provides great support to the Vhi business in general and key to that has been their adaptability to support the business needs across a multitude of products when required. The facility is ably managed by Bridget Gallagher from Falcarragh in Co Donegal and focuses mainly on inbound communications with our customers”
He continued “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Údarás na Gaeltachta for all their support over the last 10 years and look forward to continuing to work with them over the next decade.
Mr Stiofán Ó Cúláin, Príomfheidhmeannach, Údarás na Gaeltachta said VHI is a great example of an established national company which can effectively locate key elements of its operations successfully in a rural Gaeltacht area.
“Their successful operation in the Gaoth Dobhair Business Park endorses this Gaeltacht region as being an excellent location to access a highly skilled workforce. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the entire team at Vhi on celebrating 10 years of business on the Gaoth Dobhair Business Park. We offer our continued support to the company and wish them every success in the future.”
