Georgie Kelly completed a remarkable season at the weekend with a record-breaking hat-trick for UCD.

The 20-year-old Burnfoot man netted a hat-trick in UCD’s 4-0 win over Athlone in the First Division.

The treble took Kelly onto 17 goals for the season, enough for him to land the First Division’s golden boot.

Kelly is also UCD’s record scorer in the League, beating the 15-goal tallies of Ciaran Kilduff and Willie Doyle.

Kelly netted twice in the first half and he hit number three from the penalty sport five minutes into the second half.

A commerce student in UCD, he signed from Derry City in 2015, having previously played with Aileach FC.
