A couple escaped injury after a housefire at their home in Letterkenny early today.
The couple were awoken by a smoke alarm just after 2am in the Rosemount area.
The man managed to get out of the building and then put a ladder to the upstairs window of the house.
Members of the fire service rushed to the scene and help evacuate the woman.
Neither were hurt during the blaze but the property was damaged.
