Letterkenny AC’s Ann-Marie McGlynn returned to the road yesterday to win the AXA Raheny 5-mile race.

McGlynn took victory in the ladies race in a time of 26 minutes and 44 seconds.

Traditionally, a large crowd of the local road running fraternity travel to the race, which offers a fast and flat course, alongside a quality field and this year was no different.

The men’s race was won by John Travers (Donore Harriers AC) in 23:38 (1st place).

McGlynn last summer won the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon and the late-comer to the Irish vest has had a successful few years behind her.
