All but one of the scheduled flights due to pass through Donegal Aiport today have been cancelled in light of the status yellow snow-ice warning from Met Eireann.

A spokesperson for Donegal Airport told Donegal Daily that the Donegal-bound flight leaving Dublin at 7pm will go ahead, weather depending. The airport will monitor the situation carefully over the coming hours.

However, all other inbound and outbound flights to Dublin and Glasgow will not be going ahead.

This includes the 17:25 Donegal to Dublin flight, the 14:40 Donegal to Glasgow flight, and the 16:00 return to Donegal from Glasgow.

Glasgow Airport has been forced to suspend all services as snow covers the runway. Despite workers’ best efforts to clear it, the snow continues to fall, obstructing the runway.

There are no confirmed flight cancellations for tomorrow, but this is subject to change depending on the weather.

Passengers with any queries can get in touch with Donegal Airport at 074 95 48284.

In Dublin, Ryanair has confirmed that they have cancelled all of their inbound and outbound flights have now been cancelled for the rest of the day due to the status red Met Eireann weather warning for the region.

Aer Lingus have also been forced to suspend many of their short-haul flights, but they are attempting to operate a full transatlantic schedule today.
