Listen: Breen hails ‘best performance of the year’ as Glenfin continue The Great Escape

Glenfin continued their great escape as a sixth win in succession moved them up four spots in Division 2.

A couple of months ago, Glenfin looked doomed, but their revival was maintained with a win over the already-promoted Bundoran.

“We found it very difficulty to get points on the board and the heads were down, but it’s a different atmosphere the last six weeks. Things have turned around,” Glenfin boss Liam Breen beamed after a 2-12 to 1-11 win.

“I’m delighted with that performance. We had to go for the victory and we have to go against Four Masters and Naomh Muire to keep the momentum going.

“It was a brilliant performance, especially after they got the goal in the first half. We took control around the middle of the field.”

Jamie Brennan’s goal had Bundoran in command, but Glenfin hit back and goals from Carl McGlynn and Paddy O’Connor turned the tide.

And Breen added: “That was probably our best performance of the year.”
