Prayers answered as 140 year old Castlefinn Church is sold

written by Stephen Maguire October 1, 2018

An old Castlefinn Church, which was constructed with solid stone over nearly 140 years ago, was recently on the property market for offers in excess of €85,000.

The Church has been deconsecrated in recent years but still occupies approx. 0.56 statue acres or thereabouts. The property, which appears to have had a sound basic structure, has decent road frontage, beautiful mature tree to the front, with electricity and water on site.

Others features of the property include chamfered lancet windows with latticed stain glazing and a wooden pulpit and altar area.

Situated within the town boundary of Castlefin Town with picturesque views to the south of the property.

The property was recently bought with the idea of turning the derelict space into a restaurant, bespoke dwelling, funeral home or potential apartments, subject to obtaining the necessary planning permission.
