Kincasslagh Rowing Club’s Niamh Duggan and Aidan Greene both set new Irish records on Sunday at the Irish Provinces Indoor Rowing Championships.

Both records were set in the 500m races.

Duggan won the lightweight women’s 500m race in 1:45.1 – with just 0.5 seconds to spare on Niamh Hayes in second.

Greene took a superb win in the lightweight men’s race, finishing in 1:28.7 to take the win from Joe White.

The Championships were held at the University of Limerick.

Duggan and Greene both finished third in their respective 2,000m races.

Paul McGonagle finished fourth in the 500m and fifth in the 2,000m while Jamie Sweeney, entering for the first time, set a personal best time.
