Sam Todd signs one-year deal with Finn Harps

Sam Todd has penned a new one-year deal with Finn Harps for the 2019 league season, despite speculation he could return to his old club Derry City.

The defender was arguably the Ballybofey’s sides best player last year, playing a major role in Harps’ successful promotion charge, and is now expected to be a focal point for Harps in their return to Ireland’s top flight.

The news comes as no surprise as speculation intensified last week that the 20-year-old has already signed a new contract with the club.

Todd, who netted five goals last season, was on-loan from Derry City and under the guidance of Ollie Horgan and Paul Hegarty, the Donegal man helped Harps’ have the best defensive record in the First Division.
